Specifically, we find joy in offering a collection of VQA certified wines. To earn the VQA title, these wines have been grown and produced in Ontario, coming from three areas: Lake Erie North Shore, the Niagara Escarpment, and Prince Edward County. Along with the requirement to be grown in Ontario, VQA wines have many other quality and production standards that must be met to earn this title, which ensures the continuous production of these world-renowned wines.
At Proof, we love local wines because VQA wineries exude diversity. From small to large, family owned to corporate, they all share a commitment to creating quality wines produced in Ontario. As a result, we have recently been recognized by Wine Country Ontario for our commitment to proudly showcasing local Ontario wines!
Some of the more popular VQA wines we provide include Cave Spring Cellars Dolomite Chardonnay; which is a light and citrusy white wine with notes of vanilla and fresh butter. This wine can be paired perfectly with our Miso Grilled Salmon and Nicoise Salad for an outstanding, light summer meal!
One of our red VQA wines that our guests’ love is the Gamay Noir from 13th Street Winery. This versatile wine exudes juicy red berry aromas and smooth tannins and brings out all the flavours with your favourite summer foods. We recommend pairing this wine with one of our mouth-watering gourmet cheeseburgers.
